Miriam Lahusen

Miriam designs participatory formats that engage even hard-to-reach target groups – with conviction, heart, and a talent for improvisation. Her work is driven by responsibility, clarity, and a strong urge to make social justice tangible and concrete.
Miriam is co-founder and managing director of KITE. She studied textile design in Berlin and completed semesters abroad in Casablanca and Havana. She worked at the Berlin University of the Arts, the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), and Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle, focusing on participatory design, sustainability, and education for a just future.
At KITE, she is responsible for finances and guides strategic questions – especially where social impact, economic viability, and design intersect.
