Our qualitative research uncovers unspoken needs, conflicting interests, and local potential, whether in a village council, school setting, or large NGO. We conduct interviews with local stakeholders, perform contextual inquiry and participatory field formats to understand everyday practice, and map relationships and dynamics through actor-network mapping and system mapping. We also draw on desk research and cultural probes to deepen our understanding.
In early stages, we explore alternative futures and critical questions using adaptive scenarios, and in more open-ended contexts, we draw on speculative approaches like Dragon Dreaming. We develop narratives that reflect lived realities and use storytelling to anchor abstract findings in concrete experiences. Together with those affected, we ideate solutions in co-creation workshops.
Our insights are validated through surveys and on-site feedback loops to ensure that participation formats and collaborative processes are concrete, inclusive, and effective in practice.
